I love it when I find something new at a resort that can’t be seen at any other resort. And I’m pretty sure that Keemala in Kamala is the only Phuket resort with a pink resident water buffalo. There are actually two and they were rescued and given a new home on the lush green grounds of the resort. Every day they are walked to the swimming pool so guests can see them.
You can’t go wrong staying at Keemala. It’s original, natural, luxurious and quirky. Keemala is in the hills and overlooks Kamala town and the Andaman sea. It is a retreat for tourists and can be described as an enchanting evergreen wonderland focusing on wellness and quality of life. For fun seekers the resort is close enough to Kamala Beach and the liveliness of Patong Beach and all the dynamic action that Phuket has to offer, yet far enough removed to step back and take time to enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the rainforest and many holistic activities and wholesome cuisine. And the staff are in a class of their own and treat all of the visitors like friends and are always smiling and super helpful.
I was there doing a birthday photo shoot for Ben & Christina whose wedding I organized a few years ago. I’ll post some photos from their shoot later but for now here is one of the Keemala staff with the buffalo he takes care of among his duties at the 5-star Phuket resort ~ photography by Gina.
