When Tara first emailed me about the vision of her Blue Elephant wedding I really wanted to be her wedding planner.
They love Thailand and have holidays here as often as possible. And they always knew it was the place they wanted to be married. One day they walked past The Blue Elephant Restaurant in Phuket Town. They didn’t go in. Just peered through the giant iron gates and saw the huge lawn and old Governer’s mansion from the outside. And they decided it was their wedding venue.
At home in Australia they contacted me to help them after finding reviews about Thai Do Weddings on the Phuket Groupies Facebook page. They wanted a lawn wedding with bright colors and everyone sitting on the ground. A photo of a NZ picnic was the initial inspiration photo for the mats and pillows vibe they wanted for the wedding ceremony.
Tara and Andrew are unique and quirky, they know what they like and want and have a bunch of friends and family who are the same. They love Thai culture, food, travel and lifestyle.
The Blue Elephant wedding ceremony was lovely with beautiful light. Everyone was crying and laughing throughout the ceremony.
A big thank you to the manager of Blue Elephant, Khun Nu. She is so lovely, helpful and passionate about her job. Really the service given was of the highest levels. And the food is truly the best.
The wedding couple booked a big villa on the outskirts of Patong for everyone to stay at. Even though it was quite the hike they had to have everyone go from The Blue Elephant to the villa via tuk tuks. There they had a fun neon pool party and wedding reception with more amazing Thai food and cool wedding cake created by Anthony at Joob Joob.
